The Government of Canada and the City of Toronto will partner to build over 5,600 rental homes across 18+ projects in three years. The federal government will invest more than CAD 2.7 billion, with construction on over 4,500 homes starting before the end of 2026. The initiative includes affordable, supportive, rent-geared-to-income, and rent-controlled housing.
